CARPET PROTECTANT
Your new carpet comes installed with a manufacturer’s protectant or a stainguard coating to resist stains and spills. This carpet protectant acts as a shield over the surface of your carpet. But it does not last forever.
Depending on the manufacturer, the carpet protectant from brand new carpet usually lasts around 12-18 months at most. The protectant wears down from vacuuming, traffic and just time in general. If your carpet is more than one or two years old and you are still relying on the initial stain protectant to repel liquid or spills, you will be disappointed if a spill occurs.
The good news is that the manufacturer’s protectant wears down near the same time you are due for routine carpet cleaning. We recommend new carpet cleaning to remove VOCs and harmful toxins and then regular deep cleaning every 12 months.
Your protectant will have faded just in time for the arrival of a professional carpet cleaner in Bloomington. The carpet cleaner will remove any soil or dirt from the carpet and will then offer their own protectant solution to create a new shield over the surface of your carpet.
Chem-Dry of Bloomington offers our own proprietary protectant for carpet. The protectant creates an impenetrable shield over the surface of your carpet for many months to help prevent permanent damage or staining to your carpet fibers.
The protectant is an additional cost to our basic carpet cleaning process that includes vacuuming, The Natural® carbonated cleaning agent, Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE) and safe and superior results for your home.
Once the cleaning is complete, the protectant is applied to the carpet. Then your carpet is clean, fresh and protected for many months to come.
